You simply use the BBS Bulletin Board Service to reprogram a Chrysler engine or transmission controller. It's accomplished over you phone line through "Flash Reprogramming."

The Diagnostic And Reprogramming Tool (D.A.R.T.) gives you the ability to reprogram the vehicle computer to eliminate aggravating driveability problems; problems that cannot be fixed through conventional means.

You can reprogram whenever a TSB number is available. For example, by downloading the appropriate software update for the vehicle, you can eliminate such problems as hard shifting, driveability or inadvertent illumination of the malfunction indicator light.

Reprogram only the tool itself or update the vehicle computer by downloading new Chrysler data files to the tool. The D.A.R.T. will identifiy the vehicle computer "controller number" prior to performing a "flash" reprogramming, assisting you in obtaining the correct files.
